Kat is a self‑taught dancer who spent seven years dancing for fun and learning from YouTube and platforms like STEEZY, 1MILLION Dance Studio, Just Jerk, and Prepix Dance Studio. What began as a hobby grew into a passion and a career path.
In 2023, she moved to Toronto and trained intensely in jazz funk, heels, commercial, and hip hop. There she met her mentor and pivoted her focus to hip hop, committing to daily classes and programs that refined her skills. She trained with Lenny De La Peña and Angel Garcia, completed Christina Dela Cruz’s hip hop program, and joined YYZ Company, continuing to grow as an artist.
Kat has developed as both dancer and choreographer by assisting hip hop programs, leading sessions, and teaching a workshop for senior students at Rosedale Heights School of the Arts. She also choreographed a piece for FTK (Prelude Toronto, May 2025), a key milestone in her choreographic journey.
Teaching Philosophy: Kat’s style is rooted in musicality. While choreography is foundational, she emphasizes the mental skill of expressing the music honestly. Her goal is to help dancers see, interpret, and feel the music so movement becomes an authentic reflection of sound—building confidence on and off the dance floor.
