Future performance students

Heels is one of the fastest paths into Kollective’s showcase and team programs for students who want to perform.

What to expect in a heels class

Heels classes at Kollective are built around empowerment, not perfection. You’ll learn clean technique, expressive movement, and how to own a room — heels or no heels.

Each class begins with a warm-up focused on hip mobility, posture, and strength. Then we learn a combination — broken down section by section, repeated until it feels natural. By the end of class you leave with a full piece of choreography you can take home and practice.

Instructors Kezea and Alex bring a background in performance, competition, and years of teaching adults at all skill levels. Feedback is specific and kind. Progress is visible.

What heels students say

Kezea — the most inspiring, strong, and encouraging dance teacher I’ve ever had. She introduced me to heels, made me feel confident, and created an experience for me like I’ve never had before. I’m so grateful for her classes and it is something I will never forget. Her classes created an army for me that I will always feel extremely connected to. Anyone would be lucky to get the opportunity to learn from this powerhouse.

Sydney G.

Kezea is an amazing teacher. She saw me struggling in her class and helped me one on one. She used her own time to give me the extra help I needed. She has always encouraged me telling me how much potential she sees in me as a dancer. She challenged me in every one of her dance classes and this helped me become a better and more confident heels dancer. I believe that everyone should try one of Kezea’s classes because it will help you develop more confidence and fierceness!

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to wear heels to take the class?
No. Many students start in sneakers or socks. We recommend wearing whatever you’re comfortable in. You can introduce heels whenever you’re ready.
What level should I start at?
If you’ve never taken a heels class before, look for classes marked Beginner or All Levels. Our instructors slow the choreo right down and explain every movement.
Is heels dance good for beginners who have never danced before?
Yes — heels at Kollective is designed to be confidence-first. We welcome complete newcomers and build technique from the ground up. No dance background needed.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes you can move in. Form-fitting bottoms help you see your lines, but it’s not required. Bring a water bottle.
How many people are in a heels class?
We keep class sizes small — typically 8–14 students. This means you get real attention from the instructor and the class never feels overwhelming.
Where is the studio?
